Controversial: Write with (AP) style

Is it Santana Boulevard or Santana Blvd.?

It's Boulevard. In AP Style under "addresses":

Use the abbreviations Ave., Blvd. and St. only with a numbered address: 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Spell them out and capitalize when part of a formal street name without a number: Pennsylvania Avenue.

In first reference, is it Mayor Datoli or Mayor Bubbles Datoli?

It's the latter. Under "names":

In general, use last names only on second reference.

Is it the East Lansing Fire Chief or the East Lansing fire chief?

Under "titles":

In general, confine capitalization to formal titles used directly before an individual's name . . . lowercase and spell out titles when they are not used with an individual's name.

Is it $6 million or 6 million dollars? We've been through this one before, folks.

Check your AP style!
